Dune: Part Two - World Premiere

The stage for this event, which took over the whole of London’s Leicester Square, had a 42 metre long screen for which we were tasked with cutting a 4 minute edit from the film to complement the Arrakis desert style dressing of the premiere, and to also serve as the backdrop for the cast photography.

In addition to the edit we handled the delicate process of upscaling the footage to the screen’s huge resolution without introducing any unwanted video artefacts or motion issues.

For the same screen we also created a 10 minute animation of the sun setting over the Arrakis desert, with spice blowing across the sand in the foreground and, for continuity, created around 100 metres of seamless desert in the same Arrakis style that was printed on the 4 metre high surrounding walls, giving a completely immersive experience once entering the premiere.

Additionally we created various artwork and poster designs for the event, and a video sequence for 18 screens surrounding the central Leicester Square fountain.

Following the event we were asked to re-version various content and artwork we’d made, for additional Dune: Part Two premieres in New York, Germany, and Abu Dhabi.
